Michael Smith

I live in Tokyo and work for Openwave Systems Japan. I’m involved with development and testing of e-mail infrastructure software and LDAP directory software.

Outside of work I do some things with free software and open standards, particularly Relax NG and DocBook. I have a tech-related blog at O’Reilly.com. I’m a member of the DocBook Technical Committee and of the DocBook Project and I sometimes post content to the DocBook Wiki. I’m also the owner of the xml-doc mailing list.

My personal site and blog is called logopoeia.com.

I have a profile at Orkut and also one at Linkedin.

You can use Norm Walsh’s experimental WITW web service to find out where in the world I am now.

If you want to contact me, you can reach me by e-mail. You might also find me on the #docbook or #issho or #JapanBloggers channels on irc.freenode.net. I use the handle xmldoc.

I have green eyes, just like my Dad.
